Lots of weekend political drama to go over, so let’s jump into it.
David Cook Fallout
Tarrant County Chairman Bo French Attacks Rep. Patterson Who Cut Off Debate on House Rules
Tarrant County GOP Chair, Bo French, entered the thick of it when he criticized Patterson on X after Patterson was reported to have used a procedural motion to end debate on the House Rules. French criticized him for blocking him on X before implying he was some kind of swinger or something.
Republican Activist Says French Has Connections To Hitler
In response to French’s attacks on Patterson, gay Republican Texas activist Jason Vaughn entered the thick of it when he attacked French for his alleged connections to the leader of the Third Reich and Nick Fuentes. The post alleges French supports “Hitler being a pedophile.”
French Fires Back, Says Vaughn Admitted To Weird Stuff Involving Kids!
French said Vaughn’s claims about his connection to Hitler were false, and that Vaughn actually admitted on a livestream app that he is “attracted to children.”
No evidence was provided for the claims, but Vaughn has lawyered up.
Rep. Patterson Reminds Texans That Making Vice Chairs Democrats was Cook’s Idea!
Jared Patterson had what many people are saying was a mic drop moment when he entered the thick of it, reminding everyone that giving Democrats a prominent role in committees as Vice Chairs with a nice budget was a part of Cook’s “race to the middle” appeal to Democrats after securing the GOP Caucus nomination.
This was just one of many rhetorical missiles fired amidst the haze of passive-aggressive attacks in the broader power struggle within the Texas GOP after the Cook defeat, a battle that feels more hierarchical than ideological.
Here is the Cook plan, dated December 31st.
VIDEO: Todd Hunter Too Busy Calling Shots Behind the Scenes, Fails To Vote on Moving His Own Bill
Despite introducing the bill for House rules, Rep. Todd Hunter is seen on video missing the vote when a motion to “call the question” was introduced.
A motion to call the question was introduced by Rep. Patterson that ended debate/discussion on the House rules and prevented any of the reps from voicing concerns on the rules package or introducing any amendments. In the above video, Rep. Hunter meanders up to where Speaker Burrows is and, because of this, is considered absent for the vote.
This 2021 video of Rep. Hunter showcases how he usually operates. He generally just tells everyone how to vote.
Former Atheist Gay Porn Star Turned School Choice Activist Finds God
Corey DeAngelis, once known as an atheist and world-class jerk-off racer within a niche category of the gay porn industry, only to somehow become the icon for the school choice movement, says he has discovered God and has been born again in Jesus Christ.
The bulk of DeAngelis’ school choice advocacy in 2024 consisted of posting about teachers caught having sex with students. So of course DeAngelis found himself in a sexually-related situation in September.
Many People Are Saying (9/20/24)
We applaud Corey’s transition towards following Jesus Christ.
Fort Worth Teacher Invites ICE to Raid School
A substitute teacher for a Fort Worth school is under investigation for asking ICE to look into his students.
According to multiple articles, two-thirds of Fort Worth public school students are Hispanic and more than one-third speak English as a second language.
The teacher is now under investigation by Fort Worth ISD. The ISD also sent out a message:
More Undisclosed Paid Posts, Likely from the Vape Lobby
We’ve covered the issue with undisclosed paid political posts targeting Texas elections this year.
People were paid to talk about the Ken Paxton impeachment trial:
MAGA X Influencers have also been paid to promote wind farms in Texas.
In the above post, MAGA influencers were paid $10 per petition signature to promote wind energy in Texas.
We also suspect that as of recent, MAGA influencers on X were paid to promote Rep. Daivd Cook for Texas House Speaker.
DC Draino, the person cited in the X post above, had previously accepted $160,000 to push legalized marijuana in Florida.
We have reached out to Draino multiple times to ask if he is being compensated to post about Texas politics, he has yet to respond.
Now, users are noticing that a group of MAGA influencers on X associated with the organization “Resist the Mainstream” are all suddenly discussing Chinese vapes.
We haven’t figured out who is likely paying MAGA influencers to artificially promote specific topics related to Texas politics on X, but rest assured, we will eventually find out who.
I switched from smoking cigarettes to vaping in March 2014. If I had $1 for every time I've been accused on Twitter/X of getting paid to post about vaping, I'd be living in a much bigger house than the one I live in right now.
It's VERY obvious to me (almost immediately, based on the wording of the posts) that these "influencers" posting about vaping didn't do any research before they posted. The only thing they're concerned about is what their bank balance is going to say after the post goes up.
Had they done any research, they'd learn that almost everything vape-related (re: hardware) is manufactured in China. The e-liquids (commonly known as "vape juice") my husband and I use are made in the UK, but the disposable vapes I use (from the same company as my e-liquid) and every piece of vape-related hardware (the non-disposable vape mods) we own were/are manufactured in China.
Their arguments about "flavors being used to hook children" is both old news and pure bullshit. Long-time former smokers need flavored vapes to distance themselves from the taste of burnt tobacco. Hell, I'm 37 and my favorite vape flavor is Lemon Tart. My husband is 45 and he likes Watermelon Ice.
These "influencers" really need to try harder if they're trying to hide being paid to say stuff like the examples in Damin's post. For people like me who have been vaping for a decade, we can smell the money behind them from miles away.
Next session the Texas GOP Caucus will for sure win the jerk-off race in Austin when they nominate Corey DeAngelis as their candidate.
