Monitoring the Situation (1/6/25)
Here are situations we are monitoring throughout Texas.
Republican Party of Texas Convention Attendees Concerned About Hotel Costs

The Republican Party of Texas Convention is Looking to be Expensive for Attendees
A post on the Collin GOP Facebook Page last week notified Republican Party of Texas (RPT) Convention attendees to prepare for extra expenses and crowds as the convention was booked at the same time as the World Cup.
The RPT is having their convention on June 11th-14th in Houston. Accommodations for attendees, activists, and delegates are looking to be quite expensive as hotels increased their rates both for the convention and the World Cup.
One attendee we spoke to sent us their costs for a hotel room at the Hilton for the weekend totaling $1,614 for a three-night stay:
Current Revolt reached out to Hilton Americas-Houston who confirmed the RPT did secure a room block for the event at a rate of $226 per night but they could not confirm the amount of rooms that would be available. The room block was also not available for booking yesterday.
DEI is Still Alive and Well in Denton County
Despite the backlash from Muslim colonization projects like Colony Ridge and EPIC City, some close to Texas congressmen thought they would push “diversity is our strength” talking points at a recent event.
Elena Glassman, Field Representative for Congressman Ronny Jackson made a post praising the Ismaili Lewisville Jamatkhana’s opening (their TDLR is seen here).
Denton County Commissioner Kevin Falconer also attended. Falconer’s most notable accomplishment was helping headline a BLM rally along with then-LISD Trustee (now one-term state representative) Kronda Thimesch.
Rep. Giovanni Capriglione Named President of Texas Blockchain Council
Yesterday the Texas Blockchain Council announced that its former president, Lee Bratcher, would be stepping down and Rep. Giovanni Capriglione would take his place as the new President of the organization.
Rep. Capriglione faced a scandal earlier this year when Current Revolt published the video testimony of a former exotic dancer who alleged she had an affair with Capriglione. Capriglione would announce his retirement from office before the story made news. Capriglione admitted to the affair but denied other details of her claims.

Update 10:30am: Rep. Capriglione has issued a response via Renzo Downey on X:

Really solid roundup of these local developments. The timing collision between the RPT convention and World Cup is honestly kinda fascinating from a logistical standpoint bc it'll probably filter attendance by who can afford the $1600+ hotels. I worked on event planning for awhile and these overlaps can accidentally create selectivity thats more about resources than actual engagement, which might change the delegate makeup in ways nobody's accounting for yet.
The Giovanni thing is expected. Most of the time these losers become lobbyists or pimps for their corporate master and the only losers are the taxpayers especially as this seems to signal more incoming on digital ID and more of the data centers destroying towns and surrounding environs. They all make me want to puke especially the audulterer.
