Nate Schatzline's Opponent Accuses Him of Pulling a Hagenbuch
She claims Schatzline doesn't live in the district he's running in.
Democrat candidate for HD93, Perla Bojorquez, announced that she filed a complaint with the Texas Ethics Commission yesterday accusing Representative Nate Schatzline of not living in HD93.
She writes that filing the complaint was “not an easy decision to make” which is hard to believe since he’s her opponent and all but I guess it’s an easy way to sound like she’s being nice about it.
We have zero idea on the info surrounding this allegation, although Rep. Schatzline has previously commented that he’s received death threats at his old address. He also says he’s updated his info already but the website hasn’t reflected the updates yet.
We spoke with Mark McCaig of The Texas Voice who commented that the complaint is DOA anyway.
TEC will reject it. They don’t have jurisdiction over residency or eligibility issues.
-Mark McCaig
This scandal, although sounding similar to the Brent Hagenbuch address scandal, is nothing even close to the same seeing as Hagebuch blatantly wrote his business address on his application form where it, quite literally, says to not include a business address.
You may remember the Brent Hagenbuch scandal from the following articles we wrote:
We went to visit Hagenbuch’s home office once. He claims we made his employee cry.
It’s probably because we kept the Cheetos.
McCaig needs Jenny Craig. But going forward, "pulling a Hagenbuch" is the new term if anyone decides to run outside their district.
