Plano City Council SILENCES Stein and Campbell
Mayor has security remove Stein, cuts Campbell's mic
For those unaware, Prime Time 99 Alex Stein and Cassady Campbell have been attending city council meetings across Texas, exposing woke ideology and generally testing the limits of free speech, all while providing everyone a good amount of laughs.
But today at a Plano City Council meeting the council members decided they had had enough and passed several motions targeting Stein, Campbell and Instagram Comedian JVTEntertainment.
First they motioned to move the open session to the very end of the meeting. Open session is generally held early on in the city council meeting.
Second, and most importantly, they reduced the speech time from 2-minutes down to 60-seconds. This is sometimes normal when there are a large amount of speakers in queue to speak, but there were few scheduled to speak and there were several no-shows.
Plano even chose to silence part of Campbell’s speech in the video seen below:
Council members were clearly not amused that someone would want to try and convey a political message that was unconventional and entertaining.
Alex Stein then took to the podium to give his speech and at the end, the mayor motioned to have security remove Stein:
Many local politicians are used to being treated like royalty, so when someone more likable and entertaining comes and busts up their boring meetings, they don’t take it very well.
Plano Mayor John Muns then left the building with an escort by Plano Police and, oddly enough, John Stafford.
For those who can’t remember, Stafford was indicted for his actions in a 2021 Plano City Council race:
Stafford was indicted by a grand jury on Dec. 16 for “True Source of Election Communication,” a Class A misdemeanor. According to the indictment, probable cause was established that Stafford engaged in election communication that “emanates from a source other than its true source, to wit, sending text messages with the appearance of coming from a Republican or conservative campaign.”
It doesn’t normally end too well for politicians in Texas attempting to silence free speech. But who knows, maybe Plano Mayor John Muns will get lucky this time.
Satire is free speech. The American Revolution of 1776 was pushed forward in large part due to the irreverent writings of Thomas Paine who used ridicule, irony, and sarcasm to break through the conditioning in the mind’s of the people. Like King George III, elected officials today want to prohibit speech that threatens their power, which is maintained by keeping citizens disengaged with overly boring meetings and a thick bureaucracy.
Ain’t gonna work, Johnny!
