Around midnight on January 14th, Texas GOP Legislative Priorities Chairwoman, SREC member, and grassroots heroine Jill Glover died from Stage IV triple-negative breast cancer (among the most aggressive varieties.) On December 29th, 2023 she released an open letter detailing her circumstances.
A voice of sanity in an insane Texas political landscape, Jill Glover’s passing is beyond tragic, and her legacy will endure for years to come. After her beloved predecessor Debbie Terry passed on in 2019, Glover became the State Republican Executive Committeewoman for Senate District 12.
After LTC Allen West’s landslide victory at the 2020 Texas GOP Convention, he selected Glover to Chair the fledgling yet powerful Legislative Priorities Committee, where she served with honor and distinction. Perhaps her most notable feat was being instrumental in Texas finally banning child mutilation. She ran her race well (2 Timothy 4:7) and heard the words all Christians strive to hear: “Well done, good and faithful servant! Enter into the joy of your Lord!” (Matthew 25:23)
At present, her family is not only reeling from her death, but needs help paying for medical bills and funeral arrangements. If you have money to spare, honor Glover’s memory by donating here.
Whether bringing increased awareness to Austin chicanery, or showing the grassroots what they are capable of, her contributions to true Rightism will be forever remembered.
Let’s end with her favorite Bible verse.
RIP Jill. Never had a bad interaction with her. One of the greats.
Jill and I were friends. We laughed a lot over all these ridiculous political situations. I will miss her.
