Residency Issues for Granbury City Council Candidate?
Candidates continue to misrepresent their permanent residence on applications for office.
Update 9:55AM: We have been informed that Eva Royer has withdrawn her application for city council.
Following the footsteps of Current Revolt favorite, Brent Hagenbuch, a Granbury city council candidate is potentially having her residency questioned during a special council meeting tomorrow.
Eva Royer of Granbury Texas filed to run for Granbury City Council - Place 5 on August 16th. Her application shows an address on W. Bluff street with sworn residency for two years and nine months.
However, voting records we obtained show a completely different home address and a different voting precinct. Additionally, the data shows that Royer voted earlier this year using that alternate address. This would imply one of two things: either her candidate application is inaccurate, or she has been voting using the wrong address.
Additionally, the permanent address that Royer is claiming she has lived at for the last two years seems to be a vacation rental property listed on evolve.com with reviews by out of town renters during the time she is claiming she lived there.
Granbury City Council even approved the address she’s claiming is her permanent residence as a “Short-Term Rental” back in July of last year.
Granbury City Council has called for a special meeting tomorrow addressing qualification for a candidate for City Council, Place 5.
Frankly, if Brent Hagenbuch was able to get away with using his business office as a permanent address, we don’t see how Royer wouldn’t get the pass for using a vacation rental home for hers.
Why is it so hard to just live where you represent.
Her problem isn't where she lives, it's that she didn't pay enough money to Blakemore & Dan Patrick.
