Big night for Texas with mostly expected runoff results
Yesterday was election night. For many, results went as expected with very few surprises:
U.S. Senate:
Ken Paxton took the win here very easily. What was most shocking here was the amount Paxton won by: Over 20 points.
Paxton faces Democrat James Talarico in November. Talarico’s team posted this on news of Paxton’s victory:
Attorney General:
State Sen. Mayes Middleton wins Texas Attorney General by approximately 10 points beating out Congressman Chip Roy. Middleton was generally supported by Paxton supporters.
Roy conceded around 9pm:

Alex Mealer beats out Rep. Briscoe Cain and does it without ever showing up for a single debate or living in the district. Wild:

Texas Picks Bo French Over Abbott, Patrick, and the Media
Final: French 50.7%, Wright 49.3%
Bo French won the Republican primary runoff for Texas Railroad Commissioner Tuesday night, kickig Jim Wright to the curb by about 18,000 votes in a race the establishment had no business losing
Wright had Gov. Greg Abbott. Wright had Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick. Wright had a $500k check from the very Miriam Adelson, $10,000 from Dallas real estate giant Harlan Crow, and the Texas Tribune describing French as a candidate “who has long made controversial, racist and antisemitic statements.”
The Tribune spent the week before the runoff reminding readers that French had once asked on social media whether Jews or Muslims posed a greater risk to the nation, that he had called for “the deportations of 100 million people” at a conservative conference this spring, and that he had told CPAC Texas the state should ban Islam because “it’s not a religion, it’s a governmental structure intent on overthrowing our constitution.”
This was supposed to be a warning. Voters apparently loved it.
Wright’s closing argument, per the Tribune, was that French was “campaigning on social issues, like the ‘Islamification’ of Texas — that the commission has no authority over.”
That was true Monday. But The Texas Railroad Commission is fixin’ to find some authority on Wednesday. Deal with it, homie.

Governor Abbott Calls for Unity After Republican Runoff Elections
AUSTIN — Governor Greg Abbott tonight issued a statement following the 2026 primary runoff elections and called on Texans to unite behind the GOP ticket.
“Tonight, Texans chose strong, conservative leaders who will fight to keep Texas safe, prosperous, and free. A united Republican Party will drive victory, and with the primaries complete, we are laser focused on delivering a decisive victory in November. Together, we will crush socialist Democrats' dream of turning Texas blue with the same failed policies that have brought chaos to states like California, New York, and Minnesota. Texans have rejected the Democrats’ agenda of open borders, soft-on-crime policies, and higher taxes before, and they will reject them again this November. Congratulations to our Republican nominees—now let’s roll to victory.”
A notable amount of Abbot-endorsed candidates lost their races tonight including:
Briscoe Cain
John Lujan
Abraham Enriquez
Jim Wright
However, Abbott-endorsed Cindy Siegel did beat out Don Hooper for Harris County GOP Chairman.

Poor John Cornyn... he was a bad judge, a bad AG and a terrible senator. He believed his own bullshit and thought that the "establishment" would keep him employed 6 more years.
Poor John... he wanted to be liked by the communists and be nice to them by championing red flag laws. That was his only piece of legislation, his only one if I'm not mistaken.
In Texas, you can be all the patrician or establishment supported as you want, but Texans don't enjoy progressive gun laws that infringe on the Constitution.
Poor John... no more champagne parties in DC with his commie buddies.
