Texan Sold 130,000 Acres of Farm to CCP-Connected Billionaire
The buyer served in the Chinese military.
Texas Real Estate honcho David Frankens of Lufkin sold 130,000 acres of farmland, making millions, to a Chinese Communist Party connected billionaire.
Frankens, a Republican voter, made an estimated $110 million dollars selling the farmland to Sun Guangxin, a former Captain in the Chinese military. Frankens even called him a friend.
“In my dealings with [Sun Guangxin], he has always done exactly what he said he would do and has shown himself to be a generous, hospitable man.
I have visited the property on several occasions and have never seen any indication of any nefarious or questionable activities. I consider him a friend.” - David Frankens
Sun Guangxin is a Chinese national who was previously on the radar of Texas Congressman Tony Gonzales. Rep. Gonzales expressed concern about the purchase by the Chinese national, stating it was a national security risk.
Guangxin said his plans for the land were to turn it into a wind farm, thus giving his company access to the Texas electric grid, a serious national security risk. As if a wind farm producing non-productive energy levels wasn’t bad enough, a rival country could possibly have access our power grid.
A bill that would have prevented this sale variety died in the Texas House this last session due to House Speaker Dade Phelan’s chicanery.
SB 147, authored by Texas Senator Lois Kolkhorst (R-Brenham), contained verbiage that would have prevented ownership of land by aliens from high-risk countries, among them China.
“The growing ownership of Texas land by some foreign entities is highly disturbing and raises red flags for many Texans.
By comparison, as an American, go try to buy land near a Chinese military base and see how it works out for you.” - Sen. Lois Kolkhorst
The bill was good, but like many other good bills, it died when House Speaker Dade Phelan refused to hold a weekend hearing on the bill, effectively killing it.
Guangxin originally purchased the Texas land between 2016 and 2018, but then sold it, seemingly after Governor Greg Abbott signed the Lone Star Infrastructure Act, preventing firms associated with “hostile nations” like China from accessing state infrastructure; In this case, the Texas electric grid.
Seemingly due to Governor Abbott’s actions, Gunagxin sold the land rights. Unfortunately, they now belong to another foreign country, in this case, a Spanish energy firm called Greenalia.
Wind farms, as we’ve all been shown recently, have very little effect on supporting our electric needs. But it seems access to the Texas electric grid moved from China, to Spain.
A Chinese scam to a Spanish one. Is it really that hard to keep Texan land in non-subversive hands?
My husband’s hunting lease was part of the 137,000 acres that was bought. There are important details that are omitted from this article. The lease had an air landing strip. The lease not only would give the foreign entity access to power grids that could affect the AF Base that flys maneuvers over the property; but the property also had at least 14 miles of Pecos River beach frontage. The wind turbines most likely would also house 5G towers and cameras to spy on the military base. Think about that for a second? Access to water source that also flows down to Laughlin! Think this is all up front and honest? They bought another large segment of American farmland on East Coast 12 miles from Naval Base. ANOTHER military base covered by potential espionage! Coincidentally, that piece also has water access. Legislation is needed IMMEDIATELY to seize these foreign acquisitions! Not only that, but legislation needs to be added that the property HAS to revert back to farm lands to deter a shell game of selling to a shill to continue their plans!!!
Many people are saying that Rep. Gene Wu, accused Chinese communist spy, brokered the original deal.
