Finally, something positive to write about. After the events of the 88th Legislative session, infamous University of North Texas (UNT) President Neal Smatresk announced the end of the school’s diversity, inclusion, and equity (DIE) department. Considering these grifts exist to astroturf Neomarxist subversion, and ensure free stuff for incompetent diversity hires, we doubt any sane person will miss it.
Per WFAA:
DENTON COUNTY, Texas — On Tuesday, University of North Texas President Neil Smatresk announced the elimination of its diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) department.
In a letter, Smatresk said the decision came as a result of Senate Bill 17, a new law that requires all public colleges and universities to dissolve DEI programs.
“Our leadership team has been working hard to make sure we continue to support our diverse student body, faculty, and staff in our values-based environment,” Smatresk said in a statement.
Joanne Woodard is retiring from her position as vice president for inclusion, diversity, equity and access, effective Oct. 1, 2023, according to Smatresk.
On Tuesday afternoon, UNT held a ceremony in celebration of its newly branded DATCU Stadium. Following the ceremony, WFAA asked Smatresk about the decision to eliminate the DEI department.
“I don’t think this is the right time or place to address that,” Smatresk said. “I’ll simply say we have Senate Bill 17, we’re working on complying with it.”
Dr. Anna Hinton, a UNT professor that teaches Black culture and disability studies in the English department, shared her thoughts on the decision.
“My immediate reaction was disappointment,” Hinton said. “The university, in this announcement, didn’t specify the long-term implications for the different student groups and resources. If this particular decision is any implication, I’m concerned.”
…
“It requires systemic support,” Hinton said. “We’re talking about race, gender, ethnicity, nationality, language, accent, ability status, citizenship status, so in so many ways, these are gonna have far-reaching implications that people don’t quite grasp yet.”
Smatresk said the university is working to reorganize the campus' Multicultural Center, Pride Alliance and other programs.
Title IX and equal opportunity offices will move to the finance division, according to Smatresk.
UNT Athletic Director Jared Mosley told WFAA it’s still unclear what next steps his program will take following the elimination of DEI.
While a victory, one can observe UNT is already trying to dodge the DIE prohibition by moving groups once purposed with enforcing it to other branches, where they can insert CRT from the shadows.
Why are some peeved about a failed apparatus based on anti-White conspiracy theories getting replaced by a merit-based one? Everyone knows CRT-based decisions cause tragic incompetence, and an overall lack of quality; anyone remember the Oceangate happenings?
The only coherent explanation as to why Leftists keep demanding DIE everywhere is political. Such programs are known to increase the Left’s stranglehold on institutions, and ensure none with “privilege” (a mystical substance with an unknown definition) can restore order.
While it’s taken root everywhere in the West, including at UNT, no exhibit better exemplifies this than South Africa, a nation governed by CRT since 1994. Twenty-nine years later, the nation is crumbling, Whites are often targeted, and avowedly Communist political parties are mainstream.
Yes, we’re well aware that’s a completely different country and continent (we passed Geography class), but is this really far from home? Let’s recall UNT is a known hotbed of Antifa partisans who get away with nearly everything, from stalking to stabbing. A particularly memorable incident involved technicolor-haired freaks with enough nose rings to trigger airport metal detectors (“Reddit-Americans”) crashing a Young Conservatives of Texas (YCT) meeting.
Hopefully, most of UNT’s resident scum migrate to gayer pastures where DIE programs are still openly operational.
Speaking of underrepresented groups, one way to increase equity is truly colorblind hiring. We need more diversity in casts detailing the struggles of those deemed oppressed; Instead of Barbie or Oppenheimer, let’s demand our media overlords create this potential blockbuster.
I’ve heard that the University of Dallas is exceptional and hasn’t been captured by communists.
Thank God, you are calling out UNT on their lack of aggressive action against DIE. This sad time in universities will not be solved until you cut off the head of the snake. One student from our Hometown enrolled as a freshman at UNT this week, but left after she saw what was going on and is enrolling in another school.
