Abbott Signs Property Tax “Relief” Bill

Governor Greg Abbott posted on X today about his signing of a property tax relief bill.
Many people are saying the actual “relief” in the property tax relief bill is quite lacking, as it only covers those already getting reduced property taxes via seniority and homestead exemptions. What is also interesting about this bill signing event was where it was signed, and who wasn’t invited.
The signing took place in Robson Ranch, a retirement community in Denton County. Sources say many state reps were not invited to the bill signing event, including Representative Andy Hopper, who showed up anyway (the location is in his district.)
Also, despite the event being held in Denton, the Denton Mayor Gerard Hudspeth wasn’t invited. Although his opponent for Denton County Commissioner Precinct 4, Dianne Edmondson was, despite her having absolutely nothing to do with the passage of this bill. She’s even seen sitting directly next to Abbott.
Sources at the event told us that Edmondson didn’t recognize several of the state reps or senators.
Odd.
Many sources say Edmondson’s motives were pettiness and spite, as she backed Hopper’s opponent Lynn Stucky in the last election, and may be embittered over allies losing.
