Will Abbott be Impeached Over Bribe from Shady “Colonias” Developer?
Pressure is mounting after GOP leaders started asking questions.
The Ken Paxton impeachment set a new standard for ethics and transparency in Texas politics — and that’s a good thing. We have a new standing precedent called the “Two Things” standard.
It looks like this:
A campaign donation occurs (Thing 1)
A thing happens (Thing 2)
Following these two things, you can choose whether or not to impeach a politician to find out if the two things are related. This part happens in a trial by the Senate.
These are very high standards of transparency to be able to put any politician under a microscope—but for all those who believe in conservative government, in small government, and in good governance, we know this must be done if we are to live our principles as true conservatives.
TIME TO IMPEACH GOVERNOR GREG ABBOTT
We reported back on June 22 that there appeared to be a massive illegal alien hub outside of Houston, and that developers—one developer in particular—were alleged to be selling homes to illegal aliens on a massive scale.
3 months later, the Daily Wire reported all the same things we did. Less in fact, but that is fine.
After the Daily Wire article, the State Republican Executive Committee (SREC) unanimously voted to pass a resolution calling for a special session to look at legislation to address the illegal alien colonies popping up everywhere, Colony Ridge in particular.
As nice as this sentiment may be, this resolution falls flat.
We must not surrender our conservative values, nor take for granted our solemn responsibility to ensure our republican form of government continues unmolested.
That is why the House must impeach Gregory Wayne Abbott, Governor of the State of Texas, for accepting bribes from the Colony Ridge developer.
Greg Abbott accepted $1.4 million in campaign donations from William Harris, the alleged owner the of “Colony Ridge” illegal alien supercell.
Far from just a coincidence, under current precedent, and in accordance with the Texas Constitution, campaign donation are considered bribes until proven otherwise in a political trial.
You can see the evidence here. These are real payments.
It’s time to get Greg Abbott under oath and have him answer for what is going on with the border.
Is Abbott afraid to go under oath and answer questions about his connection to Colony Ridge? How are record numbers of illegals entering the State despite Texas spending billions on border security? How is Abbott able to raise so much money despite never doing anything?
Our conservative principles said we had a duty to audit Ken Paxton’s kitchen, and we did it for democracy’s sake. Now, our principles must decide about a $1.4 million payment and the obedient consent of a feckless governor during the invasion and foreign occupation of our State.
We join with the Republican Party of Texas in calling on Attorney General Ken Paxton to initiate a full investigation into the development activities of Colony Ridge Land, LLC, and its possible connections to elected officials, especially Gregory Wayne Abbott.
Anyone, or any company, giving 1.4 million dollars to a politician, definitely expects a quid pro quo. This "pay to play" system is nothing less than bribery. Under this system, a district attorney can accept sums of money from defendants coming up for trial. After the money is deposited in the DA's campaign account, the charges against the defendant can suddenly be reduced, or dismissed. That DA can say it was a coincidence, but one would have to ask, "why would a defendant donate to the person who is about to prosecute him/her?" The same question goes for the company that would donate 1.4 million to the governor.
Does Texas law allow impeachment? I was ready to impeach WEF Abbott after he stole 17 of Texan's Constitutional Rights during the lockdowns.
