VICTORY: Double Oak Audit Finishes After Mayor Resigns
Partially thanks to pressure from y'alls truly
Another scalp for the citizens. After Double Oak denizens protested their (now former) corrupt mayor Von Beougher’s decision to dump COVID money on ten people, said mayor resigned and a competently ran Town Council revealed budgetary audit results.
At a recent Town Hall meeting attended by some of our thousands-strong fanbase, the audit results were shown via PowerPoint to attendees.
In a nutshell, the audit confirmed foul play by ex-Mayor Beougher (dumping six-figures worth of COVID money is wrong m’kay), there were numerous conflicts of interest, and Town Council plans on seeking outside council to punish power abusers. Overall, this was a local-level success.
While the Double Oak saga ends, this story provides a blueprint for taking over your locality head-on. Despite corrupt, petty officials blatantly ignoring constituents and using long-windedness and blubbery “waterworks” to evade criticism, citizens relentlessly pursued accountability and won, taking three out of five Council seats.
As soon as they achieved power, they exposed Beougher’s wrongdoings, and with help from meeting attendees, pressured him into resignation. Now, the aforementioned Councilmen are cleaning up his mess, ensuring these power-trips never occur again.
The blueprint is summarized rather simply: identify sane, ideologically devout, notable community members, and network with them. Afterward, recruit said people to run for local office, build a war chest, and campaign on issues worrying residents. Accomplish these things, and victory becomes attainable. Other Texas cities have leaders using similar strategies, such as a Councilman from Jasper, TX fighting to make his town a total sanctuary for the unborn.
Also, another necessity is acknowledging government power can be invoked to further conservative policies, and pro-citizen initiatives generally. Rightists need to abandon the balderdash that using power is inherently “socialist,” a lie perpetrated by establishment stooges and their Libertarian butt buddies to justify compromise with Leftists. This idea’s circulation has done nothing but allow subversion through all societal spheres, including local governments, and result in a politically illiterate GOP base.
These effects can be reversed however, via our blueprint, organizing in all scopes of governance, and civically apostatizing from the aforementioned fallacy. Remember, never neglect seemingly minor races, because “all politics is local.”
When you got power, flex it! 💪🏿
Will there be audit for the City of Double Oak on a regular basis? The city's 2024 proposed increased budget by 4.8% which is concurrent to the Double Oak City property tax revenues. The city has a population of 3,097, being the safest city in Texas, is there a need for 13 police officers? Going through their proposed budget, do they also need a $31,000.00 computer expense? 10 years ago, there's only 3 police officers, was there a massive spike of crime rates to necessitate 10 more police officers?
