Years of insults directed at his own party may finally be catching up with the Republican State Representative from Rockwall, Justin Holland.
The Rockwall County GOP posted a letter tastefully trashing Holland for his long history of disrespect and questionable votes, which was then reposted with further trashing from Greg Abbott.
That first link where he says the GOP is “his party” was from all the way back in 2020. I actually forgot he did the gun control thing, and that was recent.
Many people say Holland is the best-dressed lawmaker in Austin. By many people I mean me and us. However, that doesn’t excuse behaving this way.
Me personally—if I’m being honest—I’m totally gaslit by Holland because he dresses so damn well. I’m not going to post the pictures here, because I know so many of our readers are struggling financially, and Holland is brutal and persistent in the passive mogging of his bespoke wardrobe.
But tides are changing, and Greg Abbott is coming out against him. That’s big.
It stands to reason that Abbott may have hard feelings about the school choice fiasco this year that played out like a car wreck in slow motion in special session after special session, ending with Democrats claiming victory.
Finally, after 4 special sessions, the most expensive suit in the room stood up and said “enough!” and killed school choice once and for all. It was a big deal for Abbott’s signature issue to go up in flames in this way. We touched on it in the December edition of Dick Weekly Magazine.
Greg Abbott is the big swinging elephant trunk when it comes to Republican politics in Texas. With $400 million on his campaign’s ledger since 2015, his campaign contributions have soared—while it’s likely that your quality of life has gone down.
With the Governor’s office comes power, but big money is where influence is traded. So when Abbott comes out against you personally, you might have a problem.
Hopefully Holland apologizes and comes clean on all these scams and helps us save the country.
Holla if you hear me: Who ready to subscribe to "Dick Weekly" magazine? Look at that big beautiful cover.
I’ll look into Holland more-anyone who voted for gun regulations can go ahead and walk to plank in my book. But I’m firmly against “school choice” as wanting to be implemented by government. We already have School choice. We can transfer into other public schools, we can pick a private school, or choose to homeschool. See there, we have school choice. I am NOT for redistributing property taxes in any form or fashion by giving anyone money or vouchers or ESAs or anything if that nature. If we want parents to have their money to use towards school choice (which I very much want all of us to keep our own money) then the answer is simply eliminate property taxes. That is the real “school choice” answer and it is the only one I will accept. So if Holland killed Abbott’s “school choice” good for him. Even if he did it because of some allegiance to democrats or whatever. I don’t care why he killed it. I’m just glad it’s dead. Real conservatives should be 100% against this government version of “school choice”. If demonrats knew how bad “school choice” is for the entire system and how it will give government more power over all school options, they would vote for it in a heartbeat. Fortunately demonrats are typically pretty stupid with how policies work, so they’re still voting against it, unknowingly being the staunch conservative voices on this topic.
