After political incumbents faced massive losses on Super Tuesday, it seems as if they’ve booked an all-day group therapy meeting (fundraiser) for next month.
Texas Super Tuesday ended in an upset for several incumbents, with some completely losing their spots and some being forced into runoffs.
With the runoff elections happening in May, incumbents are likely scrambling for votes, money, and maybe even some reassurance that everything is going to be okay.
Group therapy meetings (fundraisers) have been booked at The Austin Club for the end of this month, leading into April. The April meetings seem to be an all-day event.
With Phelan hosting his meeting on March 21st, the rest seem to be having theirs at the all-day event on April 3rd.
The April meeting includes:
Justin Holland
John Kuempel
Lynn Stucky
Frederick Frazier
DeWayne Burns
The above are hosting their meetings on the same day at the Austin Club, with Holland holding his at The Capitol Cafe around the corner. Challengers will likely use this day to freely and easily block-walk their district.
The most watched election this runoff cycle will be the Dade Phelan race against David Covey.
Hot off a massive 30+ point win on Super Tuesday, Representative Jeff Leach is making bold predictions about Dade Phelan’s chances.
WFAA:
“If other Republicans across the state lost their re-elections or are headed to runoffs because they haven’t kept their promises or haven’t actually governed like Republicans, then I’ll let them speak to that,”
(No alterations were made to this video, we don’t know what is with the background noise.)
What do you think? Is the April event just a giant check-cutting ceremony where incumbents will be told what they will do if they win? Do they even stand a chance in the runoffs?
We find out in May.
These “mean girls” are gonna get together and figure out how to beat smear and undermine their challengers and who will give them the money to do it
Leach's name is fitting!
