PAXTON LAWYER HIRED TO DEFEND ISLAMIC DEVELOPMENT
In a story first covered by Erin Anderson at Texas Scorecard, Community Capital Partners, LLC, the developers behind the new Islamic development EPIC in north Texas, has hired Paxton impeachment defense lawyer Dan Cogdell.
Texas Scorecard:
Cogdell has defended a number of high-profile clients. Most notably, he led the defense during Paxton’s 2023 impeachment trial and again in a 2024 resolution of a securities fraud case against Paxton.
It's an interesting twist considering AG Paxton announced several probes into the EPIC development, including the determination in whether any violations regarding consumer protection laws have occurred.
EPIC’s website previously had a "special message" that said they would limit sales to only persons they believe will contribute to the makeup (Muslim) of their community.
The previous special message has now been replaced with a more DEI-approved message, talking about inclusivity and including people from every background, faith, and culture.

The move to hire a Paxton lawyer is quite brilliant, as many of those who are against the EPIC build-out are also fans of AG Paxton. In Cogdell's press release, an entire paragraph is devoted to flexing his work on successfully defending AG Paxton in the impeachment trial.
In March of 2024, Cogdell once again led the defense team for AG Paxton in the state securities fraud charges which had been brought against Paxton by Special Prosecutors in a Texas State court. Cogdell secured an agreement with the State wherein all felony charges would ultimately be dismissed. Under the terms of the agreement, there was no admission of guilt or wrongdoing by Paxton. It was, as reported by The Dallas Morning News, a “resounding victory for the Attorney General.”
Quite the PR move.
A video was posted on X of another Islamic community developer (not EPIC) talking about their plans for development in the United States. He discusses naming streets after Islamic conquerors, and the group laughs about Islam "taking over" the United States. The developer, for a community not related to EPIC, also mentions how he bought out the city by hiring "everyone the township knows." They also make jokes about leftists identifying as "whatever they want."
Interesting times.
Trump Tariffs Accelerating Electronics Factory in Plano
Are the Trump tariffs working? While 401ks and the stock market take major hits due to reciprocal tariffs, companies are looking for a way to live with them.
Taiwan-based Delta Electronics Inc. recently filed plans for a $115 million factory for offices in the north Texas town of Plano.

The plans include a three-story manufacturing facility and a four-story office building that will be 630,000 square feet total, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Construction is expected to start in June and the company said in previous statements they expect construction to be completed by 2028.
The article also notes that the company plans a third phase of expansion for a larger facility to be completed by 2031.
RUMOR: Political Lobbyist Banned from Capitol After Asking House Rep for Sex???

Many people are saying that an Austin-based political lobbyist was banned from the Texas capitol after propositioning a House rep. for sex. We reached out to the consultant for comment and will update when we have more info.
UPDATE ON BRIAN HARRISON’S BILL TO LEGALIZE GAY SEX
We published a special Friday report on a very interesting bill co-authored by Brian Harrison, the Texas conservative darling.
Remarkably, Harrison’s bill to legalize sodomy would repeal a law that has been around since 1860, passed under Governor Sam Houston. You can view the original handwritten law here.
