Residents spoke overwhelmingly against the developments.

Blue Ridge city council members voted late last night to disannex the two Muslim-owned properties from the city.
Erin Anderson of Texas Scorecard:
NEW from BLUE RIDGE… City Council votes to DISANNEX two Muslim-owned properties from the city BUT keep them in the city’s ETJ.
A representative of the developers tells me that the CITY sought the original annexation and did NOT NOTIFY the developers about tonight’s plan to disannex, though he said they are fine with it.
The vote followed intense debates, with many Blue Ridge residents strongly opposing the builder whose north Texas project came under scrutiny by everyone on the internet in February.
Earlier this year Amy Mek of the RAIR Foundation uncovered a post on Linkedin where an employee of Hamra Homes LLC “liked” a post glorifying a designated Muslim-terrorist organization.
Hamra Homes LLC is an organization that co-owns Qariyah of Princeton, one of the proposed Muslim enclaves in Blue Ridge.
All people in Texas have the freedom of speech to say whatever they want, about any topic, without fear of the government going out of their way to harm them. But let me tell ya something, kid. There are laws against criticizing Israel in any way, shape, or form— crazy as that sounds. (¹)(²)(³)(⁴)(⁵)(⁶)

It appears the quickest route for Texans to shut down what many people are saying will be Sharia enclaves is to strictly enforce laws which are narrowly targeted against a very specific kind of speech and point of view.
Kind of weird, but welcome to Texas. Welcome to Current Revolt.
Attending council meetings and voicing concerns has long been an effective way to stop property development. Time will tell if other cities follow Blue Ridge.

Like the Catholic Church, Islam is both a religion AND governmental system called Sharia Law. The Constitution of both Texas and The United States protects Free Speech and religious freedom but guarantee Common Law and the Natural Rights of Man. Neither is found in Sharia Law so that means that Sharia is repugnant to both Constitutions and therefore not allowed or considered. BTW, remember that our Revolution was fought against the concept of The Divine Right of Kings, proposed and supported by the Catholic Church - the Pope is also a Head of State!
