Southlake Mayor John Huffman took to Twitter/X to suggest Rep. Beth Van Duyne to run for US House Speaker, citing her past as Irving Mayor and policy attributes. If Huffman gets his wish, Van Duyne’s career is bound to get hotter.
While some dismiss this as more “blowing smoke,” Huffman has a truly Right-wing record, even standing up to President Brandon’s Attorney General Merrick Garland when he launched a federal takeover attempt of Southlake’s schools. Overall, he has shown himself a fighter who knows how to pick potential candidates.
Despite her relatively high status among US House Republicans, Van Duyne was not involved in too many squabbles, and refuses to declare total war on her base (unlike Tony Gonzalez, Dan Crenshaw, and in the Texas House Dade Phelan.) There is a reason why she was given an “F” by the nuclear war advocates at GOP For Ukraine.
In the current pandemonium between Kevin McCarthy, and the Gaetz faction, maybe it’s time for a Texan to be Speaker, and bring order from chaos.
Beth Van Duyne would make history as the hottest US Speaker. 🔥🔥🔥
She is no conservative and would have made a lousy speaker.
