Vote to Remove Dustin Burrows and Speaker of the House FAILS
Many saw Rep. Harrison's resolution as nothing more than a media stunt.
Yesterday Representative Brian Harrison filed a resolution (HR 823) to remove Speaker Dustin Burrows as speaker of the house. He gave a very impassioned speech describing the reason behind his motion.
Rep. Cody Harris would follow up with a motion to permanently table Harrison’s resolution and Harrison’s motion to remove Burrows would ultimately fail and was tabled 142-2.

Representative David Lowe would be the only member to support Harrison’s resolution.
Many conservative representatives and leaders, several even commonly favored by the grassroots right, released statements dismissing Harrison’s move as nothing more than a stunt or a waste of time.
“…last session Brian Harrison voted for Dade Phelan and supported 5 day long weekends…(today) Representative Harrison stood for himself.”
“…political stunts some members use to position themselves for higher office…I will not be bullied into taking sides…”
“This showdown would have only benefited Burrows.”
“Harrison did not take the time to personally consult with his conservative colleagues…Harrison’s move to focus on internal conflicts over legislate progress shows a misaligned focus away from the people of Texas.”
Even Lt. Gov Dan Patrick took a jab at Harrison.

Although not everyone thought Harrison’s move was pure theater, some found it incredibly necessary.
Some would then turn to say that the conservative reps in the Texas house were RINOs
Calling Rep. Tony Tinderholt a RINO is probably one of the more insane things said this session. But whether you support or disapprove of Harrison’s resolution, you can’t deny that it accomplished exactly what he set out to achieve: media time, great video clips, and continuing to feed the flames of anger and disappointment in the grassroots right.
Harrison, who seems keen on attacking Dade Phelan, Democrats, and complaining how the House has been wasting time this session, has actually co-authored a bill, with Dade Phelan and Democrats, to legalize gay sex.
“Conservative” Brian Harrison To Legalize “Deviate Sexual Intercourse”
As a professional dog-breeder, you’d think Brian Harrison would understand how reproduction works.
Many consultants and representatives found themselves annoyed and even disappointed with the grassroots right falling for the antics in yesterday’s vote, but those same people are guilty of grooming and molding the grassroots right into falling for this exact sort of brainless rhetoric and pointless political battles.
Brainless rhetoric was used just this session to push David Cook, who supported COVID lockdowns, was pro-mask, pro-vaccine, honored George Floyd, and voted to impeach Ken Paxton, as the conservative choice for House Speaker.
Opinion: David Cook was an Embarrassing Hoax
David Cook once honored George Floyd by posting a mural and quoting Jesus, implying George Floyd was an angel who did nothing wrong.
David Cook voted to impeach Ken Paxton.
He told the public the dangerous Covid shots would get us our freedom back one year after he participated in wrecking the country in 2020 with masking (including children) and shutting down the businesses of those he deemed non-essential.
The grassroots was manipulated to promote Cook rather easily.
Was the vote to remove Dustin Burrows as the speaker of the house a political stunt, or is every single Republican representative in Texas a RINO except for David Lowe and Brian Harrison?
Harrison is a slimeball that spent two years running on how grateful we should all be for his role Operation Warp Speed, but EVERYTHING these politicians do is theatre. Republicans constantly run on conservative issues, then behave totally opposite to their voters expectations. All these Republicans do is lie and backstab and prop up false narratives.
Harrison performed theatre, and I don't see why any conservative would disapprove. It was theatre to get across the message that the Republican party is a joke. That they are liars and backstabbers and they have more in common with Democrats on the issues then they do with the Grandma's that keeps electing these losers. Whatever theatre spreads that message; that the Republican party is a farce and that all of the Republican finger pointing at Democrats is theatre to confuse voters, I am for.
Yes, a waste of time, but most of what this legislature does is a waste of time; honoring Beyonce, honoring Cecile Richards, creating Pakistan day, etc. etc. etc. :(
