Texas Senators represent close to 1 million people—more than a member of the US House of Representatives. With only 31 Senate seats, each member is critical in passing or blocking legislation.
Lt. Governor Dan Patrick is the President of the Senate, and the Texas Constitution does little to limit his extensive power and influence over the legislative process in the chamber. So when Dan Patrick comes out with endorsement and 5 figure donation to one guy over another in a Republican primary, it’s safe to assume Patrick knows what he wants.
In fact, former Denton GOP Chair Brent Hagenbuch has been stacking endorsements familiar to many Texans—from establishment politicians to President Donald Trump. Even those considered conservative stalwarts like Sen. Bob Hall have endorsed Hagenbuch, a known Democrat donor, while Hagenbuch’s opponent, Jace Yarbrough, has a long endorsement list consisting of grassroots leaders and activists. Curious.
Hagenbuch’s endorsements:
Yarbrough’s endorsements involve more local grassroots activists and organizations:
This race is unique in that the power and money have completely aligned.
What is it about Brent Hagenbuch that has created such strange bedfellows?
Dan Patrick, Greg Abbott, Bob Hall, and Don Huffines all say Brent is the guy we need in the Senate.
Why? Not sure.
Only time will tell whether or not conservatives will be able to take back control of America, stop the invasion, and right the ship.
If that happens, and Brent Hagenbuch is a part of this great patriotic effort, I am willing to offer my services to come up with a believable story for a made-for-tv movie about how Brent lived in his commercial office during the campaign to meet the residency requirement.
I think Tom Cruise playing Brent Hagenbuch running a Senate campaign from the bathroom of a business park is quaint and touching.
Life is not about how you started your political career in a dishonest way, it’s about the friends you made along the way. My movie will really help restore his image as a regular sheister as opposed to his current status as an Ultra-Mega sheister.
Will the Texas Senate be a bulwark against federal tyranny and the ongoing invasion, or will it just be another scam?

One quick correction. The Lieutenant governor derives no power from the constitution. all of his power comes from rules adopted by the Senate which is how David Dewhurst was quietly removed from the chair for the last four weeks of the 2009 session
I am 100% MAGA, but even Trumps endorsements do not sway me. I look for the groups and PACs that endorse, grassroots vs establishment. This vote would be a no brainer.
