Security camera and police-worn body camera footage was released this week of the Lakewood Church shooting in Houston.
In the video above, you can see Genesse Moreno, wearing a trench coat, park her vehicle and bring her 7-year-old son into the church.
She opens fire shortly after, with her son nearby. She seems to gesture to him to stay back several times while she fires her gun. The boy makes attempts to hug his mom and shields his ears from the sound of the gunfire.
One of the off-duty officers begins to engage the suspect and seemingly shoot the child. Moreno screams at them that they “killed her son” and to “stand down,” claiming she has a bomb.
Moreno then calls for help and is struck by one of the security officers firing at her. They ask her several times to put her gun down as she continues to scream that she has a bomb.
Eventually, she seems to succumb to gunfire, and officers move in to disarm.
Moreno’s son was shot in the head and remains hospitalized.
