With primaries nine months away, and several already announcing their desire to be Texas Attorney General (AG), we may see another contender enter the race.
During an interview with former Trump strategist Steve Bannon, Rep. Mitch Little expressed an interest in running for AG. For those unaware, the seat is open now that Ken Paxton is running against unpopular Senator John Cornyn. Explaining his reasons, Little pointed out that Trump won’t be in the White House forever, and we need someone who’ll fight for Texas in case of Biden regime 2.0.
Rep. Little, despite being a newcomer, has made waves since entering Texas’s political scene. During session, he authored HB 4623, which makes public schools liable for sexual abuse of students and failing to report said abuse. A clip of him defending his bill, and roasting a Democrat questioning him made it on Fox News.
We at Current Revolt also covered Little’s increased notability. Starting as one of AG Ken Paxton’s attorneys during the impeachment clown show, he went on to defeat one-term incumbent Kronda Thimesch during the 2024 GOP primaries, colloquially named the “incumbentocaust.” Other coverage includes his time prosecuting a pedo cabal in a Texas university, and a grassroots campaign to make him run for AG.
Whether he’ll run is unknown, but no matter what happens, Current Revolt will cover it all. With the amount of time available to run for office, we expect no shortage of new candidates, along with surprises and shenanigans guaranteed to amaze, horrify, or just elicit eyerolls.
